Cadence Bank Consolidates Birmingham Teams in New Center

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 23, 2013 — Cadence Bank announced today that it has completed the renovation of its new state-of-the-art Operations Center at 3500 Colonnade Parkway, home to 185 employees and running parallel to the bank’s Operations Center in Starkville, Miss.

The 59,564-sq. ft. space was built out in four months and has room to accommodate an additional 100 employees, keeping in line with the bank’s commitment to sustainable growth. The new center houses loan operations, deposit operations, mortgage and credit services, and information technology teams.

“The relocation and expansion of our operations center with in Birmingham is a key component in the continued execution of our growth strategy and commitment to the City of Birmingham,” said Sam Tortorici, chief executive officer of Cadence Bank. “The technological enhancements made possible in this new space not only increase efficiency, but also provide the necessary infrastructure that strengthens our capacity to prepare for and respond to unanticipated business interruptions. It is a testament to the innovative vision of Cadence Bank.”

Situated within the new Operations Center is an impressive Data Center that has been fully enhanced with the latest equipment and new technology that lowers power and cooling usage, reducing the bank’s carbon footprint. With this move, Cadence has transitioned from physical servers to virtual servers, which allow multiple servers to co-exist on the same computer. This results in cost savings and optimized business continuity.

The two data centers, together, are integral to Cadence’s operations and overall IT strategy. Best practices in banking today require interconnected systems and staff in two different locations running parallel to each other to ensure business continuity in the event of a natural disaster or other locally disruptive occurrence.
