3 Simple Steps to Ease Your Mind about Debit Card Fraud

Thieves may use these opportunities to steal your money. Here are a few simple steps you can take to alleviate your fears about debit card fraud.  

 

  1. Download the SecurLOCKTM Equip debit card app onto your cell phone. It’s available at no charge from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
  2. See every charge that is made to your debit card. The alerts pop into your phone within seconds of the transaction so you can see if the charge is legitimate.
  3. Use the app to turn off your card if you need to, quickly and easily. If you left the card somewhere, or if you suspect fraud, you can turn off the card almost instantly to avoid fraudulent charges. If you get the card back and no charges were made on it, you can turn it back on just as easily.  

 

And here’s a 4th option, if you’re interested.   You can set the card to work only where you are. If you’re concerned about overseas hackers getting your card information from an online site where you made a purchase, for example, you could set your card to reject overseas charges.
