Cadence Bank Names Tom Clark as New CIO

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. and HOUSTON, May 12, 2015 — Cadence Bank announces the appointment of Tom Clark as executive vice president and chief information officer. Clark, who brings nearly 20 years of industry experience, will guide and support the bank’s future technology strategies, and assumes oversight for Cadence’s technology and banking operations.

“Tom will play a critical role in defining our long-term information technology and digital road map,” said Paul Murphy, CEO and president of Cadence Bancorp. “His extensive background in banking and technology will be invaluable as we further enhance our internal framework and expand our digital banking offerings.”

Murphy continued, “Tom’s broad experience building and operating customer-focused, multi-channel delivery and business automation solutions, paired with his proven leadership, align well with our culture and future at Cadence. We are encouraged by the strategic insight he brings to the bank.”

Prior to joining Cadence, Clark most recently served as information security executive at USAA. During the ten years he spent at USAA, Clark held multiple other positions including vice president, business performance excellence; vice president, member support operations; and assistant vice president, e-commerce and enterprise business operations. In addition, his background involves roles as senior vice president, consumer bank technology at Bank of America, and chief information officer at BankUnited.

Clark earned his MBA from the University of Florida and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He received an executive certificate in management and leadership from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
