Deputy General Counsel Allison Skinner Selected President-Elect of Birmingham Bar Association for 2021-2022

BIRMINGHAM, February 3, 2021 – Cadence Bank, a subsidiary of Cadence Bancorporation (NYSE: CADE), is proud to announce that Deputy General Counsel Allison Skinner has made her mark on Birmingham history by becoming president-elect of the Birmingham Bar Association (BBA). She is only the sixth woman to hold this position since the association started in 1885.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to serve as president-elect of the BBA,” said Skinner. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to support Birmingham lawyers in their legal professions, as well as promoting justice and public service throughout our communities.”

At Cadence Bank, Skinner focuses on corporate governance, risk management, litigation and various corporate matters. Prior to joining Cadence, she established her own alternative dispute resolution firm after almost two decades of representing domestic and international clients in complex litigation.

“This is an historic selection for the BBA and we are extremely proud of Allison,” said Jerry Powell, general counsel of Cadence Bank. “She is an exceptional lawyer, who makes a great effort to do what is best for her community and her peers. She will definitely make a positive difference in this leadership role.”

Skinner currently serves on the board of directors for the Junior Achievement of Alabama and is an elected Alabama State Bar, Board of Bar Commissioner.

The Birmingham Bar Association is one of the oldest local bar associations in the United States, with approximately 3,500 members.
