Paul B. Murphy, Jr.

Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director, Cadence Bancorporation
Chairman, Cadence Bank, N.A. 
Paul Murphy is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Cadence Bancorporation, and Chairman of Cadence Bank, N.A. He has served at Cadence and its predecessors since January 2010.
Previously, Murphy spent nearly 20 years at Amegy Bank of Texas, helping to steer that institution from $75 million in assets and a single location to assets of $11 billion and 85 banking centers in the Houston, Dallas and San Antonio metropolitan areas at the time of his departure as the Chief Executive Officer and a Director in 2009. During Murphy’s tenure, Amegy completed several successful acquisitions and sold to Zions Bancorporation for $1.7 billion in 2005, with original investors realizing 36 times their investment.
Murphy is an advocate of the community and is a board member of the Houston Endowment, Inc., the largest endowment in Texas with more than $1.5 billion in assets. In addition, he serves on the boards of the Hines Real Estate Investment Trust, Inc. and Oceaneering International, Inc., and is active in the World Presidents Organization. Murphy earned a bachelor's degree in banking and finance from Mississippi State University and his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Samuel M. Tortorici

Chief Executive Officer and Director, Cadence Bank, N.A. and President, Cadence Bancorporation
Sam Tortorici is the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Cadence Bank, N.A. and serves as President of Cadence Bancorporation. Tortorici has served in this role since July 2011 and has overseen three successful acquisitions along with raising $300 million of debt capital to support the bank’s growth. In his role as CEO, he oversees Cadence’s business lines and support functions.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Tortorici graduated from the University of Alabama’s School of Accountancy. Upon graduation, he began a 24-year career at Regions Bank and predecessor AmSouth Bank where he held a number of senior commercial, finance and general banking leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer of AmSouth. Immediately before joining Cadence, he led Regions' Commercial & Industrial business comprised of over 500 banking professionals across 16 states, and with annual revenue exceeding $1 billion.   
While at Regions/AmSouth, Tortorici held other key positions of leadership for sales and service across a variety of business units, including Central Region President, Alabama Regional President, North Central Alabama Area Executive, Corporate Banking Executive and Chief Financial Officer.
Tortorici is actively involved in his community. He is the immediate past Board Chairman of the United Way of Central Alabama, where he led a successful $37.2 million United Way campaign for Central Alabama in 2008. He continues to actively serve his alma mater, and is on the Executive Committee of the University of Alabama President’s Cabinet. He also serves on the American Bankers Council, the Bold Goals Leadership Coalition, Rotary Club of Birmingham, and as a Ruling Elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Valerie C. Toalson

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Cadence Bancorporation, Cadence Bancorp, LLC and Cadence Bank, N.A.
Valerie Toalson is Chief Financial Officer for Cadence Bancorporation, Cadence Bancorp, LLC and Cadence Bank, N.A. She joined Cadence in January 2013. She brings more than 25 years of banking experience in accounting and accounting operations, financial and regulatory reporting, treasury, and investor relations. She also has played key roles in budgeting as well as customer and relationship profitability management.
Prior to joining Cadence, Toalson served as CFO of BankAtlantic Bancorp and BankAtlantic N.A., and previously held several leadership positions at BOK Financial Corporation, including Corporate Controller, Manager of Credit Services, Manager of Process Improvement and Chief Auditor. Toalson began her career in audit at Price Waterhouse, where she received her certified public accounting certificate.
Toalson is an active volunteer in her community and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. 

R.H. "Hank" Holmes, IV

President, Cadence Bank, N.A., and Executive Vice President, Cadence Bancorporation
Hank Holmes serves as President of Cadence Bank, N.A. and as Executive Vice President of Cadence Bancorporation. In addition, he serves as Business Services Executive and President, Texas Region of Cadence Bank, N.A., positions he has held since joining Cadence in 2011. Since that time, he has built the bank’s lending team across the Southeast and in Texas to more than 85 relationship-focused lenders intent on bringing their clients solutions on both side of the balance sheet. Holmes oversees nearly $3 billion in loan activity among eight lending groups, including Commercial & Industrial, Middle Market Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, Energy (Upstream, Midstream and Services), Community Banking, and Private Banking. 
A member of Cadence Bank’s Senior Management Committee and Senior Loan Committee, Holmes also is integrally involved in the bank’s merger and acquisition activity, regulatory relationships and business development, having played a role in the $1.6 billion acquisition of Houston-based Encore Bank in July 2012. 
Holmes began his career at Amegy Bank in its commercial real estate department, and over seven years closed more than $750 million in loans while servicing one of Amegy’s largest portfolios. Under his leadership, Amegy’s private banking department grew from $400 million to $800 million between 2003 and 2009, outperforming industry standards with minimal loan loss and high profitability. Holmes assumed leadership of the bank’s special assets group in 2009, where he implemented policies to meet regulatory and other audit requirements. 
With more than 20 years of banking experience, Holmes is a frequent guest lecturer at leading universities and a recurrent presenter on issues relating to banking and the economy. He serves on the board of directors for the University of Mississippi’s School of Banking and Finance as well as Neighborhood Centers, Inc. He also is a member of the Young Presidents Organization.
Holmes earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi in 1993, majoring in managerial finance.

Jerry W. Powell

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Cadence Bancorporation, Cadence Bancorp, LLC and Cadence Bank, N.A.
Prior to joining Cadence in 2011, Mr. Powell served as special counsel at Jones Walker in the firm’s Financial Services Section. Prior to that, Powell was the General Counsel for BBVA Compass in the United States and General Counsel of Compass Bank, a position he held for more than 25 years. Before joining Compass, he was a lawyer at a general-practice firm in Birmingham with an emphasis on litigation, creditor’s rights and consumer compliance.
Powell serves as a board member of AIDS Alabama and was a founding director of Magic Moments, an organization dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of terminally ill childen. He is a member of the President’s Advisory Council of Birmingham-Southern College and Chairman of the Farrah Law Alumni Society at the University of Alabama School of Law. He is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, and the University of Alabama School of Law, with honors. Powell is a member of the American Bar Association and the Alabama Bar Association.

Tom Clark

Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Cadence Bank, N.A.
Tom Clark, Chief Information Officer for Cadence Bank, brings nearly 20 years of experience in information security within the financial services industry. Clark’s expertise includes building and operating customer-focused, multi-channel delivery and business automation solutions, and he is recognized for creating successful system-wide strategy and execution teams.
Prior to joining Cadence, Clark most recently served as information security executive at USAA. During the ten years he spent at USAA, Clark held multiple leadership positions including vice president, business performance excellence; vice president, member support operations; and assistant vice president, e-commerce and enterprise business operations. In addition, his background involves roles as senior vice president, consumer bank technology at Bank of America, and chief information officer at BankUnited.
Clark earned his MBA from the University of Florida and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He received an executive certificate in management and leadership from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  

J. Randall Schultz

Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Specialized Industries, Cadence Bank, N.A. and Executive Vice President, Cadence Bancorporation
Randy Schultz is Managing Director of Specialized Industries of Cadence Bank, N.A. and Executive Vice President of Cadence Bancorporation. He joined Cadence in December 2011.
Prior to that, Schultz was the founder and Managing Director of Regions Bank’s Restaurant Banking Group, which was formed in April 2009 and grew assets under management to approximately $1.3 billion by 2011. Previously, Schultz was Managing Director of Bank of America’s Restaurant and Beverage Finance Group from 1996 to 2006, which he helped grow from $300 million in assets under management to approximately $7 billion in assets and $200 million in revenue. He led multiple lines of business on a regional and national basis during his tenure at Bank of America, including commercial banking, corporate and investment banking, and global treasury management.
Schultz received his Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi State University and his master’s degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University.
